Background
Love Your Art is a new company created to provide exclusive, yet affordable art to people on the high street. As an online entity only, they decided to take the idea to the high street and approached Ripe to look at the interior design, management and fit-out of their first store in York.
Brief
Create an environment suitable to display and retail a wide range of exclusive and diverse art across many different genres and in many different formats.
Importantly the art must be displayed to appeal to passing trade in the high street and the space must also serve as a gallery space for one off exhibitions and events.
Solution
Ripe designed a space that featured clear sections, almost like rooms in a house, to allow different artist’s work to be displayed in bespoke decorated areas. This allowed Love Your Art to create unique exhibit spaces that displayed the different art as effectively as possible and provided a clear customer journey through the store.
The first floor was designed as an exhibition space that again allowed for bespoke decoration each time a different exhibit was on show.
Result
Visitors to the store far outweighed that predicted and as a result Love Your Art are already looking at opening another flagship store in London.
